Our Story

From the First General Store in Palo Alto to a Workshop in Heppner, Oregon

Our family story begins over a century ago, in a growing town called Palo Alto, California. When Leland Stanford University was just being established, my great-grandfather opened one of the first general stores in the area: La Peire and Son. It was a place where neighbors came not just to shop—but to connect.

That tradition never left our family.

Today, in the quiet high desert town of Heppner, Oregon, I carry forward that legacy under the same name: La Peire and Son. But instead of barrels and dry goods, I craft small-batch goods using modern tools—laser cutting, sublimation printing, and a deep respect for handwork.

Every item I make—whether it’s a custom keychain, a family name sign, or a set of coasters—is designed to last and meant to feel like something you'd find in a well-loved corner of the original store.

This is more than a brand. It’s a way to reconnect with the idea that goods should be useful, personal, and made with pride.

Thanks for being part of the next chapter.
